The XII ethnogastronomical festival "World Dumpling Day" will be held in Izhevsk in January. The event, which annually gathers more than 50,000 guests, will take place on the Central Square of the city and present dumpling traditions from all over Russia and the world.

From January 2 to January 9, 2026, the twelfth ethnogastronomical festival "World Dumpling Day" will be held in Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic, on the Central Square. The event annually gathers over 50,000 guests from all over Russia.

The festival will present a variety of dumpling traditions not only of Udmurtia, but also of other peoples of Russia and the world. A Christmas market is planned as part of the event, where chefs from Dagestan, Buryatia, Kamchatka, Altai, Rostov, Chelyabinsk regions and other regions will present dumplings with different fillings.

The guests of the festival will enjoy a rich program: master classes in modeling and tasting at the Pelmeni Residence, performances by creative teams, presentations of events from the participating regions, as well as sports competitions, including the traditional pelmeni race. For the first time, an ice rink will be organized for the guests.

A special place in the program will be occupied by the participation of the projects "Gastronomic Map of Russia", which will introduce guests to the culinary traditions of the country.
