BACKGROUND NOTE

       The Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan was established in accordance with the Decree No УП-235 of March 03, 2014 of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan “On the Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

       The Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan has been transformed into the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism in accordance with the Clause 2 of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Decree No УП-286 of March 20, 2014 “On transformation of Public Procurement Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan”. It has been further established that the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism shall be the legal successor of the Agency for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan.

       In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan No УП-298 of March 24, 2014 “On appointment of S.E. Ivanov a Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism” Sergey Evgenyevich Ivanov has been appointed a Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism.

       In accordance with the Regulations of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Order No234 of April 12, 2014 “Issues within the competence of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism”, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism shall be the executive body of the Republic of Tatarstan state power with the inter-branch competence, fulfilling functions of state administration in tourism and inter-branch cooperation and coordination of activities with Ministries and Departments of the Republic of Tatarstan for the purposes of tourism industry and hospitality development.
