With more than 2.2 million tourists in the first six months of 2025, Tatarstan has become one of the leaders of domestic tourism in Russia, ranking fifth in the Rosstat ranking after Moscow, Krasnodar Region, St. Petersburg and the Moscow Region.
Rosstat summed up the results of the first half of 2025 for the tourism sector. The tourist flow to Tatarstan exceeded 2.2 million people, demonstrating a positive trend compared to the same period last year (+33%). In terms of the number of trips, the republic entered the top 5 regions of Russia.

In total, tourists made 41.4 million trips across Russia from January to June, which is almost 7% more than in the first half of last year.
"The development of domestic tourism has become particularly relevant today. Our republic has everything for this: a rich history, unique cultural and historical sites, and beautiful nature," said Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"The measures of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" contribute to the development of domestic tourism. The regions are developing infrastructure and creating new tourism products. This contributes to achieving the goal set by President Vladimir Putin: to ensure 5% of the share of tourism in the country's GDP and 140 million trips by 2030," said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
