The XVII International Economic Forum “Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum” has started in Kazan
The XVII International Economic Forum “Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum” has started in the capital of Tatarstan. The large-scale event, which brought together a record number of participants from 103 countries, will last until May 17. The main objective of the forum is to strengthen trade, scientific and cultural ties between Russia and the states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Special attention in the business and exhibition program is given to tourism.
The 17th anniversary of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum” is taking place in the capital of Tatarstan from May 12 to 17. The event, which brought together a record number of participants from 103 countries, has become the main platform for economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the states of the Islamic world.
The Forum is supported by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. Its goal is to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The business program includes 149 events on 21 thematic tracks: from Islamic finance and the Halal industry to artificial intelligence and digitalization.
The tourism industry is represented at the forum by a number of activities that emphasize the role of tourism as a tool for dialogue between cultures.

Presentation of tourism in the Republic of Tatarstan
In Pavilion 2, as part of the general stand of the republic, from May 12 to 15, from 9:00 to 18:00, there is a specialized stand of Tatarstan Tourism, where forum participants can watch the presentation and receive materials. -
The session “Tourism as a tool for cultural dialogue: the Experience of Russia and Islamic countries”
will be held on May 14 at 3 p.m. in Cluster A, Hall 10 (2nd floor). The moderator is Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan. -
Presentation of the tourist territory of Kazan Marina
In the C3 cluster, as part of the exhibition of investment and infrastructure projects, the Kazan Marina stand is presented, where you can get information about investment opportunities in a new project.
On May 14, at 13:00 in Cluster A, Hall 13 (2nd floor), a session "By the water with comfort" will be held: Yachting tourism as a driver of territorial development", which will be addressed by Sergey Krasnoperov, General Director of JSC “Corporation Tourism.RF” with a report “On the implementation of the large-scale investment project Kazan Marina as a driver for the development of cruise tourism in Russia”.

Closed-door meeting of the Russian-Malaysian Working Group on Tourism
During the meeting, key areas of strengthening partnership between Russia and Malaysia in the tourism industry were discussed, as well as a presentation on “Tourism products developed for Muslim tourists in Tatarstan”. The Working Group will be headed by Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Dato Shaharuddin bin Abu Sokhot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia.
