The training program "Hospitality. Reboot-2024. BRICS" gathered about 1,200 people over two days: managers and line staff of hotels and restaurants, tour guides, museum staff and tour operators. They are told about how the summit will be held and are taught how to receive high-ranking guests.
The training program is designed in such a way as not only to give industry specialists valuable knowledge on the basics of etiquette, intercultural communications and protocol, to prepare for the service of guests according to Halal standards, but also to immerse them in the international agenda.
Alexander Bobrov, Associate Professor of the MGIMO Department of Diplomacy at the Russian Foreign Ministry, explained what the BRICS group is, and told the story of its creation, goals, objectives and significance. Local expert Dilbar Sadykova, Chairman of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy and Creative Communications, Russia's delegate to BRICS events, shared practical tips on intercultural interaction. Moscow guest Inna Shchepetova, a teacher at Novikov Business School, told how to achieve impeccable service.
The training program is conducted by the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism in cooperation with the Association of Hotels of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan, the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan, the Committee for Tourism Development of Kazan in preparation for the Summit of the Heads of BRICS states in Kazan.
This work is also aimed at the long-term perspective: The readiness of infrastructure and staff to receive foreign guests will contribute to achieving the goals of the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry" to increase the export of tourist services three times by 2030.
