Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism made presentation of the Republic tourist potential at the 6th session of Dialogue and Forum “The United Russia Party” -Communist Party of China”. He spoke about major tourist attractions of Tatarstan, such as Kazan Kremlin and Veliky Bolgar city, objects that might be of interest to China guests -Lenin Museum and Kazan University, and future major sporting events, etc. He also noted Tatarstan efforts for attracting tourists from China, such as launching of the new charter flight Urumqi-Kazan-Urumqi, successful implementation of China Friendly project and development of special offerings. All of this has allowed increasing number of Chinese tourists by 30%.

At the end of his speech, Sergei Ivanov challenged Chinese companies to invest in Republic of Tatarstan tourism industry.

Aigul Balahontseva, Head of Tourist Product Promotion Department of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, presented Tatarstan at “See who we are!!” online exhibition. She spoke about the Republic in general, about transport accessibility and peculiarities of the region, excursion routes, conditions for business trips, and also about event tourism. All webinars dedicated to tourism in Tatarstan will be held today and over 4000 people have already entered the participants’ list. In addition Julia Talanova, Director of LLC Travel & Voc, Daria Antonova, Head of “Persona Grata” Company Inbound Tourism Department, Olga Ikun, Managing Partner of Group of Companies “Kazan Travels Bureau” and Marat Kalimullin, General Manager of the “Nogai” Hotel Complex will appear as experts. They will speak about new and existing programs for tourists and many other things.

Tomorrow at “Relita” hotel, at 3 pm will be held presentation of “India Friendly” program. “India Friendly” project mission is creation of comfortable environment in Russia for those Indian tourists who having travelled outside their country suffer number of problems and inconveniences due to national and culture sensitivities, and traditions of everyday life. Two Tatarstan hotels “Relita” and “Korston” have already become participants of the program.

Kazan entered top three most popular Russian cities for traveling on May holidays. The top ten cities are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, Pskov, Veliky Novgorod, Sergiev Posad and Vyborg. According to RoomGuru.ru service data, the tourists are booking accommodation for May holidays in Kazan for three nights on an average and will spend 3 thousand rubles per day. The rating is based on hotel and apartment booking information from April 29 to May 10, 2017. There has been noted that in 2017 the number of trips in Russia during holidays increased by 15% as compared to the last year.

Today in Moscow has opened MITT Tourism Exhibition. At Tatarstan stand are expected about 20 participants from the Republic: representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism, museums-reserves, tour operators and hotels, as well as the Republican Association of Health Resort Institutions “Tatarstan Health Resorts”. The main event will be the presentation of tour itinerary “Tatarstan: 1001 Pleasures". One of the main roles is assigned to Tourism Volunteers Assembly participants. They will inform guests about new product, conduct interactive sessions and all guests, listened to valuable information will receive pleasant gift. The 12th International Tourism Exhibition “Intourmarket 2017”, where Tatarstan has been represented by 18 participants at the joint stand, is meeting deadline in Moscow. Among them were representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism, Elabuga State Museum-Reserve, Sviyazhsk Island, Veliky Bolgar town, Kazan Tourist Information Center, “Kazan Kremlin” Museum-Reserve, as well as representatives of hotels and tour operators involved in domestic and inbound tourism. Having opened the exhibition, Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, noted domestic tourism level growth by 10% in 2016, ”In terms of tourist flow growth Tatarstan, Altai and Krasnodar Territory are designated to the leading regions in addition to St. Petersburg and Moscow”.

Today “The Great Volga River Route” tour itinerary was presented at IEC “Crocus Expo”. The project has been implemented on the initiative of the Republic of Tatarstan with support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture. The presentation was held within the framework of XII International Tourism Exhibition “Intourmarket 2017”.

The event was attended by Sergei Korneev, Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, Dmitry Nikulin, Head of Тrip Aggregator Platform, Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, Vyacheslav Gilyazetdinov, Chairman of the Republic of Bashkortostan State Committee for Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Mikhail Maltsev, Head of Department of Tourism of the Samara Region, Konstantin Yakovlev, Minister of Culture, Nationalities Affairs and Archives of the Chuvash Republic, as well as heads of other relevant agencies for tourism of the Volga Federal District, participating in elaboration and promotion of interregional tour itinerary “The Great Volga River Route”, and tour operators: Ilya Umansky , General Director of “Alean” Company, Alexander Lvov, “RZD-tour” Company Deputy General Director and some others.

Sergei Korneyev opened the event, “Russian tourism conditions are like, that new objects for attraction of tourists shall be constantly sprung up and constructed. They shall vary in quality, price category and subject matter. And such islands shall be bridged. These routes became bridges. It is very difficult to figure out this huge information file of tourist opportunities that exists in our country without waymarks. Projects like “The Great Volga River Route” allow systematizing information and bringing it to the consumer.”

Sergei Ivanov took the floor next and presented the tour itinerary. In his speech, the Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, has noted that the main target on tour itinerary is creation of new tourist destination in the Mid-Volga Region, capable of attracting Russian and foreign tourists,” As of today, more than twenty tour itineraries within the “Great Volga River Route” stitched together 14 regions of the Volga Federal District having geographical, historical and cultural community, national identity and belonging to the main trading and life-supporting waterway- the Volga River. The tour itinerary is unique with its content, national cultures and traditions variety (6 national republics in the region); Undora, Sol-Iletsk, Ust-Kachka natural habitats, the developed infrastructure and natural landscapes. As of today, 15 tour itineraries, united by conception of a whole, are diligently being elaborated. These are weekend tours, covering at least three regions of the Volga Federal District, logistically and conceptually thought out and eventful”.

XII International Travel Exhibition “Intourmarket” will be opened at IEC “Crocus Expo” (Moscow) on the 11th of March and lasts until March 13. The Republic of Tatarstan will be represented by 18 participants at the joint stand and namely: Republic of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, Kazan Tourist and Information Center, tour operators, hotels and museum- preserves.

Kazan entered the top five popular Russian cities status March 8. The ranking was compiled by online travel booking service OneTwoTrip  based on data of hotels reservation in Russia and in the world on the 8th of March and the following weekend. On holiday a room in the capital of Tatarstan costs 3200 rubles on average per day.

The rating also includes such cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnaya Polyana and Sochi.
