Exhibition “Sviyaga- a running water” is to be opened in the Museum of Sviyazhsk history

Opening of the exhibition “Sviyaga – a running water” will take place on August 11 at the Exhibition hall of the Museum of Sviyazhsk history, informs the press-service of the Museum.

The exhibition represents the history of the river Sviyaga and its embankments from ancient times till the XX century. The Isle – city Sviyazhsk and the most significant villages and settlements located on the river and its tributaries are in the center of attention. Each of them has its own ties with Sviyaga, its history and legends, landscapes and places of attraction.

Sviyaga, which gave its name to the city of Sviyazhsk, is a right tributary of the river Volga. It is a small river in the middle Volga region and flows across the territory of Tatarstan along over 160 km.
