The Commission on public control over the implementation of the Federal Target Program "Development of foreign and internal tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)" in the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting.

The meeting of the Commission on public control over the implementation of the Federal Target Program "Development of foreign and domestic tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)" in the Republic of Tatarstan was held on the island city of Sviyazhsk on July 20, 2017. The meeting was attended by Sergey Evgenievich Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, a member of the Commission, Liana Marceljevna Kuznetsova, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, Rinat Rafaelevich Fazylov, head of the Executive Committee of the popular front in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kirill Nikolaevich Ponomarev, Deputy Chairman of the Public chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Public Council under the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, Director of the Kazan branch of "The Russian international Academy for tourism", Ramil Zufarovich Miftakhov, President of the tourist agencies Association of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the Public Council under the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism.

Members of the Commission listened to Liana Saetova’s report on the progress of the Federal Target Program for the tourism and recreational cluster "Sviyazhsk" implementation.  Liana Saetova said:     «525 000 people visited Sviyazhsk. The increasing tourist flow to the Island city of Sviyazhsk requires  the comfort level of infrastructure and conditions of guest staying on the island to be raised. This is especially true for campers, being visited the island all year-round, including visits by buses. The construction of intercept parking on the driveway in 4 kilometers from the island will help to reduce the human impact on the buffer zone of the UNESCO world heritage site – the Cathedral of the Assumption and monastery of the Island-city of Sviyazhsk, as well as to increase the quality of tourist service, which results additionally in growth of the tourist flow”. Parking area is 14993 sq. m. Number of parking spaces is 549 m/m, including passenger cars - 454 m/m.  Funding sources are the budget of the Russian Federation – 41.8 million roubles, the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan - 71.2 million roubles, extra-budgetary sources (hotels)– 302,0 million roubles. End of construction is scheduled at October of 2017.

Upon the end of the report members of the Commission have visited the Civil War Museum, learned about construction progress of the intercept parking and examined objects of tourist-recreational cluster "Sviyazhsk":  the hotel "Mayak" and "Cascade 2", "Tash."

Members of the Commission on public control found the work on implementation of the Federal Target program "Development of domestic and foreign tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)" in the Republic of Tatarstan satisfactory and determined the date of the next meeting as of September, 25.
