The opening of the unique exhibition "Masterpieces of Gustave Dore” dedicated to the 185 anniversary of the birth of the great French artist and graphic takes place on May, 17, at 14.00, in the Exhibition hall of Yelabuga state open-air Museum.
The company "Arthit" has provided 120 illustrations of Dore for compositions of classical writers of world literature, including "Adventures of Baron Munchausen" by Raspe, "Paradise Lost" by Milton, "The Divine Comedy" by Alighieri, "The fairy tale" by Perrault, La Fontaine's fables. At the exhibition you can see the most interesting works of the artist that are presented not in books, but in expanded form; and each work comes with a description and statements from the text.
