“The Great Volga River Route” Tour Itinerary has Been Presented at “Intourmarket” Exhibition

Today “The Great Volga River Route” tour itinerary was presented at IEC “Crocus Expo”. The project has been implemented on the initiative of the Republic of Tatarstan with support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture. The presentation was held within the framework of XII International Tourism Exhibition “Intourmarket 2017”.

The event was attended by Sergei Korneev, Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, Dmitry Nikulin, Head of Тrip Aggregator Platform, Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, Vyacheslav Gilyazetdinov, Chairman of the Republic of Bashkortostan State Committee for Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Mikhail Maltsev, Head of Department of Tourism of the Samara Region, Konstantin Yakovlev, Minister of Culture, Nationalities Affairs and Archives of the Chuvash Republic, as well as heads of other relevant agencies for tourism of the Volga Federal District, participating in elaboration and promotion of interregional tour itinerary “The Great Volga River Route”, and tour operators: Ilya Umansky , General Director of “Alean” Company, Alexander Lvov, “RZD-tour” Company Deputy General Director and some others.

Sergei Korneyev opened the event, “Russian tourism conditions are like, that new objects for attraction of tourists shall be constantly sprung up and constructed. They shall vary in quality, price category and subject matter. And such islands shall be bridged. These routes became bridges. It is very difficult to figure out this huge information file of tourist opportunities that exists in our country without waymarks. Projects like “The Great Volga River Route” allow systematizing information and bringing it to the consumer.”

Sergei Ivanov took the floor next and presented the tour itinerary. In his speech, the Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, has noted that the main target on tour itinerary is creation of new tourist destination in the Mid-Volga Region, capable of attracting Russian and foreign tourists,” As of today, more than twenty tour itineraries within the “Great Volga River Route” stitched together 14 regions of the Volga Federal District having geographical, historical and cultural community, national identity and belonging to the main trading and life-supporting waterway- the Volga River. The tour itinerary is unique with its content, national cultures and traditions variety (6 national republics in the region); Undora, Sol-Iletsk, Ust-Kachka natural habitats, the developed infrastructure and natural landscapes. As of today, 15 tour itineraries, united by conception of a whole, are diligently being elaborated. These are weekend tours, covering at least three regions of the Volga Federal District, logistically and conceptually thought out and eventful”.
