The awarding ceremony of the republic competition “The Leader of Tourism” took place in the Kazan city hall.

At the 16th od December, in the Column hall of the Kazan city hall (33, Karl Marks street) there was an awarding ceremony of the republic competition “The leader of Tourism” winners. The Prime Minister of the Tatarstan Republic I. Sh. Halikov and the chairman of the Tatasten Republic State Committee of Tourism S. E. Ivanov had a words of salutation.

In his welcome remarks the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Republic have expressed the hope that one day the touristic branch in republic will draw a level with large industries like oil production and petrochemical industry: “I want to point that in spite of difficulties and almost unrealizibility – it is absolutely accessible task”. Also, Ildar Halikov thanked all, who drew round in the hall: “You could create truly stable branch and companies with the high level of professionalism within a shade over ten years. Certainly, there are leaders and outsiders in every branch, there are people, who underestimated their energies or crashed out. But the best are keeping working, they can create the best and the most comfortable holidays”. The Prime Minister cited as a positive example Tetushi town: “I can’t believe it!  You created so much beautiful stories, legends and programs that make people to come here. I can say that all 44 municipal districts have such conditions and opportunities to go in a such way. Let it be a serious competition between the heads of districts. It is needless to say that we are expecting the growth of Kazan, Elabuga, Chistopol and others. Tatarstan is said to be the touristic subject, and, I hope, it will be more and more developed”

The chairman of the Tatarstan Republic State Committee of Tourism Sergey Ivanov thanked the participants, too. “There were many bright events this year, and all of this – the result of your well-coordinated and professional work. We are ready to go to new lines. And the number of guests, which currently Tatarstan awaits - over 3 million, will be overcome next year with sustainable growth, which we have shown in recent years.

 The competition was created in 2001 and up to 2015 it was held under the name “Tourism – XXI century”. There took part the organizations of the touristic industry of the Tatasrtan Republic, institutions in the touristic field, municipal corporations of the Tatarstan republic, tourism infrastructure organizations (hotels and hostels, entertainment complexes, catering establishments and souvenir companies). Due to new branches in the tourist field development, categories of the competition are changing year on year.
