Kazan and Sevastopol Won Online Voting for Bank of Russia New Banknote Characters

The online voting for Bank of Russia new banknote characters is completed. In the last days of hot contest Kazan and Sevastopol got the upper hand in the league table at the site “tvoyarossiya.rf”. The capital of Tatarstan with Kazan Kremlin and Kazan Federal University characters is second with 421 748 votes. Sevastopol topped the popular support ranking with the result of 428 718 votes. Today at 19 p.m. on “Russia 1” TV live channel the Russians will have the last opportunity to change the final result of the votes by sending SMS messages, afterwards will be announced cities and characters which Central Bank will use on banknotes of 200 and 2000 rubles nominal values.
