Etihad Airways has opened direct flights between Kazan and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, at Kazan International Airport. Flights will be operated three times a week, with a travel time of about 4.5 hours.
Etihad Airways has opened direct flights between the capital of Tatarstan and the capital of the UAE. Today, on December 4, the first scheduled direct flight from Abu Dhabi landed at Kazan Gabdulla Tukai International Airport, after which the plane departed for the capital of the United Arab Emirates from Kazan.
The launch of the flight of the UAE's national airline, Etihad Airways, was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was attended by Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Natalia Goryunova, Head of the Etihad Airways Representative Office for Russia and Central Asia, Sergey Romantsov, General Director of Kazan International Airport, as well as representatives of the media and the blogosphere.
"This is a significant event for the development of tourism and business relations in the republic. The Persian Gulf countries are a priority market for us, and the opening of direct flights is an important step towards achieving the goals of the national Tourism and Hospitality project to increase the export of tourist services," said Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Flights on the Kazan — Abu Dhabi route will be operated three times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Departure from Kazan is scheduled for 13:30. The flight on comfortable Airbus A320 airliners will take about 4 hours and 25 minutes.
Next week, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, together with Etihad Airways, plans to conduct an advertising and information tour for tour operators from the Persian Gulf countries.
