A large-scale restoration of the memorial temple to fallen soldiers in honor of the Miraculous Image of the Savior has been completed in Kazan. This architectural object built in 1823 is located on a picturesque island 2 km from the Kazan Kremlin. Its convenient location and parking for buses make it a promising destination for inclusion in sightseeing routes around Kazan.
The State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism jointly with the Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites organized a special display of the object for tour operators with the possibility of further integrating it into excursion programs. The memorial temple to fallen soldiers in honor of the Miraculous Image of the Savior will complement the routes through the historical center of Kazan and become a new attraction for pilgrims and tourists.
The renovated temple is a significant cultural heritage site of federal significance, which, after extensive restoration, is ready to receive tourists. Built in 1823, it is a unique architectural structure in the form of a 20-meter truncated pyramid located on the Kazanka River just 2 km from the Kazan Kremlin.
During the restoration work, the coastline and waterproofing were strengthened, historical entrances, stairs, porticos and stucco decorations were restored, and a crowning cross was installed. The facade cladding with natural stone and landscaping of the surrounding area are now being completed.
The temple is operational and is open to guests in the summer every day from 8:30 to 19:00.
