The second day of the Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition has ended

Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition brought together representatives of business tourism from the BRICS countries and the Global South. The delegation from Tatarstan also took part and shared their experience of holding business events.

On December 16-17, Moscow hosted the international congress Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition, which brought together representatives of the business tourism industry from the BRICS countries (Russia, Brazil, India, China) and other countries of the Global South. The event participants discussed current developments in the global MICE market and industry development trends.
On the first day of the forum, discussions were held on the current priorities of the MICE industry. The experts reviewed the state of the convention and exhibition infrastructure in the BRICS countries and the Global South, as well as the introduction of modern technologies and principles of sustainable development.

In parallel, case sessions were held that covered the topics of the MICE infrastructure of the future, the creation of ideal MICE directions and ESG practices in the industry. At the session "Territory of Impressions: how do non-standard sites affect the choice of destinations?" Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov shared Tatarstan's experience of hosting the BRICS Heads of State Summit in 2024. The participant discussed preparations for the summit, focusing on the challenges associated with updating collective accommodation facilities for high-ranking guests, training personnel in the tourism industry and the potential to use the legacy of large international events.

Aigul Balakhontseva, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, presented the republic's MICE potential, noting its success in hosting major international and business events, as well as opportunities for organizing various event formats.

As part of the Tatarstan delegation, representatives of the Kazan Tourism Development Committee, the Convention Bureau of the Republic of Tatarstan, corporate events agencies Congress Avia and RA DMC & MICE, and the Luciano Hotel & SPA participated in the forum.

The event, organized by the Moscow City Tourism Committee, became a platform for the exchange of experience and ideas, and Kazan proved to be an attractive location for business tourism in the international arena.
