On September 28-29, the historical festival "Journey into the Past" will be held in Veliky Bolgar
This weekend, a new historical festival "Bolgar. A journey into the past" will take place on the territory of Bolgar reserve museum. The event is supported by the National Tourism and Hospitality Industry Project. For two days, 10 venues will be open for guests, where everyone will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
The festival sites will be divided into four historical periods of the ancient city of Bulgaria – Volga Bulgaria, the Golden Horde, the Kazan Khanate, the Russian state. The central event of the entire festival will be the thematic battles of the reenactors of the 17th century Moscow reiters, cavalrymen of the new order with firearms.
Guests will enjoy theatrical performances, themed fights, workshops on 15 medieval crafts, a historical fair, specialized playgrounds for children and families, a full-cycle historical cuisine and much more.
The organizers have planned an evening music program with the participation of famous Russian and Tatarstan bands. The grand finale of the event will be a spectacular fire show, where fiery performances will be accompanied by medieval music.

The event is organized by Travel to the Past LLC, which, as the winner of the competitive selection for the support and holding of event events in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, received a subsidy in the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" in the amount of 11.3 million rubles.
