China Eastern Airlines extends flight program for Shanghai-Kazan
The State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, in conjunction with China Eastern Airlines, will hold a series of promotional events to promote a direct flight between Shanghai and Kazan. China is one of the priority foreign markets for Tatarstan to attract tourists. This work is aimed at achieving the goals of the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry" to increase the export of travel services three times by 2030.
China Eastern Airlines has confirmed that the flight program for the Shanghai-Kazan route will last for the winter period – now flights are included in the sales system until the end of March 2025. Let us recall that the flights will be operated on comfortable Airbus A330 aircraft with 264 seats. However, the schedule of the days of the week will change – after October 26, flights will be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
This flight is the first in the post-pandemic period, which will connect Tatarstan and China. Before the pandemic, direct flights from China were operated in the summer of 2016 from Urumqi to Kazan, when a direct charter flight was launched, on board of which about 1300 Chinese tourists arrived in Tatarstan.
As part of the promotion of tourism opportunities of the Republic of Tatarstan in the priority foreign market, the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan has planned a series of promotional events. Next week, the delegation of Tatarstan will fly to Shanghai to hold a presentation of the republic's tourism potential for tour operators and travel agents in China.
To demonstrate the tourist attractiveness of our Republic, about 20 Chinese tour operators and journalists will arrive in Kazan on the first flight from Shanghai, for whom the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan will conduct an advertising and information tour.
Kazan has become the third city in Russia from where you can fly directly to Shanghai. China Eastern Airlines also operates flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg.
