The entry of 154 from 27 districts of the republic was attracted this year. Sergei Ivanov, the Chair of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism, has taken part in the awards ceremony, ‘The past eight years have seen a great variety of projects from all the regions of the republic representing totally different trends. And it is pleasure to witness that their themes and quality keep growing in diversity. Likewise, the interest of participants in the contest is increasing. We can only wish that the entire republic, all those who care for the tourism expansion, would try and think of something new they could create in the field, of how to make a tourist trip to Tatarstan yet more fascinating and spellbinding.’

The “Journey To The Origins” contest was first announced in 2010. The contest’s mission is to attract children and youth to development and implementation of innovative tourist projects in the field of cultural heritage, and to instill a true sense of patriotism by dint of raising awareness among the youth of today about major tourist resources of their native land.
