On 30th of August, on the Republic and City Day, the event “Invaluable chapters of history” will take place in the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. Interactive museum classes from the cyclus “History of simple items”: “Violin clef or how the music was born”, “It started everything with the wheel”, Duck in the hand, on the leash…” are waiting for the young visitors.

Kazan artist M. Nurullina is going to held a master class in painting “Flowers of my republic” for those who always wanted to learn drawing or wish to develop their present skills. Creative master classes in lace-making, bead weaving, puppets fabrication, calligraphy and scenery preparation for insta-pictures will be held as well. Lovers of sweets will be able to prepare ice-cream on their own by visiting master class from the creative group “Just”.

Concert program “My city, I’m singing of you…” participating the State Institute of Culture of Kazan, ensemble “Red hill”, musical ensemble “MINchausen” and master classes from the percussion school «EtnoArt» is prepared for the holiday.

Theatricalized costumed excursion “Reanimated exposition” will immerse you in the history of the famous epochs of the Volga Bulgaria and Golden Horde, Kazan Khanate and Kazan region and lead into the governing epochs of Peter I and Catherine II, get you acquainted with heroes of Napoleonic wars and World War I.

Kazan became TOP-5 the most visited places by foreign tourists in Russia - reported Executive Director of the Tour Operator Association Maya Lomidze on the RIA News press conference.

«Kazan this year has burst into the most five visited places by foreign tourists in Russia», – she mentioned.

Moreover, in summer 2016 Saint Petersburg, Moscow and other cities of the Golden Ring have got into the number of the directions in-demand by foreigners.

Kazan for the 10th year gathers admirers of retro machines for a great event, which demonstrates unique exemplars of automobile industry of the beginning and mid 20th century. This year the program will last 3 days during which festival participants can get the brightest experiences and take part in a plenty of extreme competitions. During this time motor-racing track «Kazanring» will transform into the atmosphere of real man drive, varoom and engines’ power.  Two days festival participants will compete in the competitions “Autosabantuy” and the third day will start a gorgeous and spectacular retroauto parade.   The races of Kazanring will be also a part of the program, where participants will be able to demonstrate a virtuoso race cars driving.  For those who are for the first time in Kazan an unforgettable night excursion will be organized. 

August 13-14, 2016 All-Russian Festival of medieval battle "Great Bolgar" took place in the Bolgar State Historical Architechtual Open-air Museum, which is included into the UNESCO World Heritage list. 38 000 spectators have visited festival for the whole time of its duration, about 26 000 visitors came last year.

In the Opening Ceremony Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergey Ivanov, Executive Director of non-profit organization "Republic Fund for Historical and Cultural Monuments Revival RT", Vice-chairman of State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Tatyana Larionova, Deputy of State Duma of the 6th duma of the RF Aleksander Sidyakin, the Head of Savior Municipal Area of Tatarstan Kamil Nugaev  and Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Udmurtia Denis Utrobin took part.

The main venue became the tiltyard there was a horse tourney, mass battle buhurts, tilting matches 10 on 10, a historical medieval tourney battle "First Сlass". Among participants of the festival were world champions in historical medieval battle - members from the National Team of Russia from “Burn”, “Nurnberg” and “Polish Lithuanian Spear” clubs. Totally more than 500 reenactors took part in the festival from such cities as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh, Tver, Rybinsk, Ivanovo, Vologda, Syktyvkar,  Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Pavlovo, Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Dmitrovgrad, Ioshkar Ola, Kirov, Penza, Yelets, Lipetsk, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny , Ufa, Nizhnekamsk, Izhevsk, Perm, Berezenki, Chusovoy, Nizhny Tagil, Ekaterinburg, Zlatoust, Kurgan, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Alma-Ata .

August 19 a folklore holiday Savior of the Apple Feast Day takes place in the culture and sports center “Moskovskiy” in the Uritskiy Park.

On the festival Kazan people and visitors can make acquaintance with unique traditional means of household items making, souvenir production and wooden amulets. There will be presented works of the expert Sadrieva R. “Patchwork”, the head of applied arts studious “Mosaic” Iliyena R., the expert of the chamber of crafts RT Rodionova L. and others.

The festival in the culture and sports center “Moskovskiy” has already taken place for the fourth time. The highlight of the evening will be a theatrical festive concert, which will allow to the audience for a while immerse themselves into the world of the Russian traditions, walk-arounds, songs and jokes..

Savior of the Apple Feast Day begins 04.00 p.m.

On the all-Russian Festival of a medieval battle Great Bolgar lookers-on can not only enjoy battles and competitions but also take pleasure in excellent entertainment show, which includes live music performances and a real “Fire Fairy-tale” by show band Jenazi! It is a theatrical show combining the elements of circus, magic, plastic dance and sports mastery. Fire action is usually accompanied with fireworks support from small sparkling pinwheel and fountain up to real flamethrower fireworks and a full firework. There are completed final rehearsals of fire show before the festival on Kazan stage: providers mention that there will be definitely enough fire, colors and emotions for everyone.   
You can already see this magnificence on August 13, 11:00 p.m. on the main festival tiltyard Great Bolgar.

At the All-Russian festival of medieval battle “Great Bulgar” medieval handicraft workshops and MHC “Streletskiye zhonki” will held interesting and useful master classes for female handicrafts: machine weaving, reed and small boards, hemps (pullers) and merrythought (fork). And, of course, upstream fabric fettling. Master will share knowledge and provide the possibility to work with natural materials and traditional instruments. Date and time of the events: 13th of August from 10 till 19 and 14th of August from 10 till 18. In the same place one will be able to buy instruments for weaving: natural fabrics – linen, wool, cotton which will perfectly suit your re-designing and styling, as well as good and ecological casual clothes.

The festival “Great Bulgar” providers prepared a separate program for the smallest of their visitors. The playground “Medieval children’s world” will be functioning especially for them.

This playground is unique because of the games which shall be played on it and which were played side by side from ancient times by nationalities living on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For example, a prototype of the today’s relay races the famous game “Disordered horses” – “Tyshaulyatlar”, amusement which helps developing of team spirit. The game “Guess and catch” – “Chitanme, buzme” helps the participants get closer and remember each other by name. And the game “Selling pots” – “Chulmakuyeny” teaches children to come to terms with each other.

Also, particularly for the small girls there will be held a master class for making chaplets out of grass. They will be told both about plaiting technique and traditions of that ceremony which existed in the past, as well as about meaning of each grass-blade in a chaplet.

On 11th of August at 20:30 in the park named after Vasily Aksyonov there will be held an open-air animated demonstration of the trilogy “The Zilant fairy-tales” “Tatarmultfilm”.

Getting acquainted with grandgrand-grandson of the dreadful Zilant – Zilantik is included into the program of the festival. He will share with kids and their parents cautionary tales about kindness, friendship and love to work.

Until this moment the cartoon had been shown to citizens and guests in the parks named after Gorky, Uritsky and Petrov, as well as in the park “Gulliver”.

From 25th till 30th of August, one month before opening of theatrical season, the Tatar State Academic Theatre named after G.Kamala will show six best stage plays.

On 25th of August the theatre fans will see the famous performance by the play of Tufan Minnulllin “Zhankiseckeyem” (“Light of my eyes”) – rethinking of the famous Tukai fairy-tale “Shurale”. The play is being performed on stage already 20 years and is always popular.

On 26th of August there will be presented the first performance of the last season “Kotem seane…” (“While waiting”) by the play of Ilgiz Zainiyev which the author devoted to the memory of Tufan Minnullin who had made an invaluable contribution to preserving and developing of the Tatar repertoire theatre.

The famous hit “Khodzha Nasretdin” will be shown on 27th of August. On the next day spectators will see “Dilefruz – Remake” and on 29th of August – the lyrical comedy “Mekhebbet FM”. One of the most popular stage plays of the current repertoire “Gergerikiyaulere” will finish the holidays’ performances.

Traditional August performances are a present of the theatre of Kamala for the citizens and guests of Kazan to the City and Republic Day.
