From 23rd till 25th of August the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergei Ivanov had a working visit to the Czech Republic. Working meetings with Czech tour operators and negotiations about including of the Republic of Tatarstan in tourist routes made for locals were held within the trip. There was also a visit to the city of Brno of the South-Moravian region where the meeting with hetman of the region Mikhail Hasek and representatives of the Centre for tourism development, Brno international airport and local tour operators was held. Issues of mutual promotion of tourist resources of two regions including organization of advertising and informational tours for tour operators and journalists, participation in regional specialized exhibitions and leading advertising campaigns in mass media were discussed.
It is to be recalled that there is a direct flight connection between the Republic of Tatarstan and Czech Republic, Czech Airlines perform two flights in a week (flight time 3,5 hours) what makes our destination affordable and attractive for travelling.
South-Moravian region is the second best place for attendance after Prague in Czech Republic. It is a region of hospitality and winemaking with living folklore. Capital is the city of Brno which is well located not far from big cities of Europe – 110 km from Vienna, 120 km from Bratislava, 200 km from Prague. There are seven UNESCO monuments within a radius of 100 km from Brno, in addition to that they preserved folklore traditions at the good level – men’s national dance “Slovak verbunk” is included in the nonmaterial heritage list of UNESCO. Wine tourism and bicycle touring is well developed.
