In the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism there was a meeting of Sergey Ivanov, the Chairman of the Committee, with representatives of the Japanese tour operator "Hankyu Travel". The guests are staying in Tatarstan within the framework of the promotional tour, the purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the cultural and historical heritage and tourist infrastructure of the Republic of Tatarstan for further popularization of the image of Tatarstan and promotion of the tourist product among residents of Japan.
The program of the visit includes a visit to the Kazan Kremlin, Old-Tatar settlement, the city of Great Bolgar, the island-city of Sviyazhsk-Island and Kazan hotels.
We’d like to mention that about 85 thousand tourists from Japan visit the Russian Federation annually.
The Organizing Committee of the III International Festival of Motivation Movies and Sport BRIDGE of ARTS has completed the selection of movies for the special program "Russia is Inspiring!". The movie from Tatarstan "SUNNYFEST" reached the final in the category of "Event". Receipt of applications has completed on the 15th of June 15. The Selection Committee examined more than 180 works from 48 regions of the Russian Federation. Most movies will work for the victory in the category "Event" - nine motion-pictures from Tatarstan, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Moscow, Murmansk, Tambov and Rostov regions.
The Assumption Cathedral of the island-city Sviyazhsk in Tatarstan is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It became the 29th Russian object and the 3rd Tatarstan object, after the Kazan Kremlin and the Bulgarian Historical and Archaeological Complex, in the Honor Roll. It became known from the official Twitter of the world organization, which holds the 41st session in Krakow these days.
The nomination for discussion was presented by Susan Döyer, the expert of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) from the United Kingdom, who visited Sviyazhsk in August 2014 with an advisory mission. She briefly described the Assumption Cathedral and the monastery, told about the restoration work, and revealed the world universal value of the monastery complex: "In general, ICOMOS supports the nomination of the Assumption Monastery to be included in the World Heritage List".
Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, is on a working trip to Austria. There he takes part in the meeting of the working group "Sustainable Tourism Development" in rural areas. The State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan has signed an agreement on cooperation between the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism and the Interregional Public Organization on promotion of the Military-Historical Reconstruction "Valor of Ages" on organizing the Europe Grand Prix (International Tournament) for the historical medieval battle in the format 5x5 on August 12-13, 2017. The Grand Prix is held as a part of the international festival of the medieval battle "Great Bolgar". The procedure of signing were attended by Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the Committee, and Arthur Abdrashitov, his deputy.
"For the first time" is the real key word for the exhibition "Turks, Moors, Tatars - Moslems of Prussia and Germany", which opens in the Museum of Islamic Culture of the open-air Museum "the Kazan Kremlin" on June 23, at 11:00.
This is the first exposition, being presented as a part of the long-term international research project "Tatar materials in foreign archives", which is developed by the Institute of History named after Sh.Marjani of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. Exhibits from eight institutions in Germany: museums, archives, libraries and private collections are displayed in the Open-air Museum for the first time. Curators of the exhibition are Dr.Stefan Taylig, Director of the Brandenburg-Prussian Museum (Wustrau) and Dr.Miste Hotop-Rikke, director of the Institute of Caucasian, Tatar and Turkestan Studies (ICATAT) from Magdeburg.
Sergey Ivanov, the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, with his deputy, Arthur Abdrashitov, took part in the startup of a new sight-seeing tour in Kazan on the Retro tram. The sight-seeing route is an adaption of the really existing tram route that passes through the historic town center, starting from the railway station to the river port and back. This tour gives the opportunity to everyone to get acquainted with the history of Kazan; an audio guide tells a story about famous personalities, who used to live in houses located along the route of tram. It’s possible to select one of 7 languages for the tour. In addition, during the tour you can try the national cuisine of the Republic of Tatarstan. Duration of the tour is 40 minutes. The Republic of Tatarstan has prepared an excellent surprise for all fish lovers! The gastronomic fish week FISHKA takes place from the 16th till 22nd of June in the city of Kazan. It is interesting that fish, presented at the festival, is exclusively home born. The “stars” of the event will be sterlet, carp and trout.

Analytical agency TurStat ТурСтат has named the Russian smallest towns, which are popular for travelling in the summer vacation period of 2017.
The rating included the smallest towns with population less than 10 thousand people.
Top-10 of the smallest Russian town during summer vacations include Bolgar (Tatarstan), Plyos (Ivanov region),Kirillov (Vologda region), Myshkin (Yaroslav region), Vesyegonsk (Tver region), Teberda (Karachayevo-Cherkesiya), Zadonsk (Lipetsk region), Pravdinsk (Kaliningrad region), Verkhneuralsk (Chelyabinsk region), Solvychegorsk (Arkhangelsk region).
The rating has been made by the results of analysis presented by the tourist offices and on-line booking of accommodation systems.
Summer project “Hospitable Kazan” has started on June 1. It is being realized annually by the “Assembly of Tourist volunteers of the Republic of Tatarstan” NPO with the support of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism.
The project is aimed at informing the tourists of the places of interest and objects of tourist infrastructure, as well as the increase of tourist attractiveness in the city of Kazan.
Each information site presents a geo-cupola pavilion in the form of a football ball and organized in the Visit Tatarstan style. There are three volunteers working inside each pavilion in two shifts from 10.30 a.m. to 02.30 p.m. and from 02.30 p.m. to 06.30 p.m.; they are located in 5 places of the town: the Old-Tatar Settlement, Kamal theatre, «Chaliapin Palace Hotel», hotel «Nogay», Kazan Kremlin. These information sites provide tourists with free map of the city, as well as the official guide «Tatarstan: 1001 pleasure», issued especially for the start of the summer tourist season and Confederations Cup 2017, in 5 languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish and Chinese. Tourist guide was developed by the “Center of Tourism development of the Republic of Tatarstan” NPO. This year the project “Hospitable Kazan” will be supported by 200 volunteers, who are the students of Kazan universities.
