Monument to Musa Jalil to open with participation of Tatarstan delegationi in Kazakhstan

On June 20, a monument (a bust) to Musa Jalil will be opened in Ust-Kamenogorsk, the capital of East Kazakhstan region.

Its installation is dedicated directly to two important dates of this year: the 70th anniversary of Victory Day and the 20th anniversary of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan. Representatives of the Tatar ethnocultural association took the initiative to create a monument to the Tatar poet-hero. The bust was made by Tatarstan honored sculptor Mahmut Gasimov.

The grand opening of the bust will be held on the territory of the Regional Architectural-Ethnographic and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve. Then, Sabantuy will be held in Levoberezhny Park, the press service of Tatarstan Ministry of Culture reports.

Tatarstan will be presented to Tatarstan Minister of Culture Ayrat Sibagatullin and creative delegation at the ceremony.

It should be recalled many CIS countries have Musa Jalil streets and avenues. Many monuments have been put in honor of poet: for example, in Moscow, Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, St. Petersburg, Menzelinsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Tosno, Almetyevsk. Now, a similar monument will appear in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
