Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, led a delegation to Hanoi to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam. The key points were the meeting with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, who stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Tatarstan's tourism potential was also presented during the trip.
The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, led by the Head of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, completed a working visit to Hanoi, where he took part in the Vietnam–Tatarstan business forum and held a number of key meetings aimed at strengthening economic and cultural cooperation between Tatarstan and Vietnam.
The central event of the visit was a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Tin. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that "Vietnam is one of Russia's key partners in the Asia-Pacific region. The relations between our countries are in the nature of a comprehensive strategic partnership."
Pham Minh Tin recalled his visit to Kazan last October to attend the BRICS Heads of state summit, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the visit, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov presented the tourism potential of Tatarstan, focusing on the variety of recreation in the Republic at any time of the year. He also spoke about four UNESCO sites located in Tatarstan, Kazan's status as the gastronomic capital of Russia, and educational opportunities in the region.
As part of strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, Sergey Ivanov held a meeting with tour operators from Vietnam specializing in organizing trips to Russia.
Minnikhanov's working trip to Vietnam was a significant step in strengthening interregional cooperation and confirming the strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam.
The development of international cooperation is aimed at achieving the goals of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" to increase the export of travel services three times by 2030.
