During the New Year holidays, the Republic of Tatarstan attracted a significant number of tourists. The Kazan Kremlin turned out to be the most popular place to visit, showing an increase in the number of tourists. Interest has also increased in other attractions, including Veliky Bolgar and the island-city of Sviyazhsk, as well as winter resorts.
Following the results of the New Year holidays, the Republic of Tatarstan attracted the attention of 170,000 tourists, which was a significant achievement for the region. The highest hotel occupancy rate was observed from January 3 to January 5, when the occupancy rate ranged from 85 to 90%.
Short frosts and warm winter days contributed to an active interest in the tourist centers of Tatarstan. A visit to the Kazan Kremlin became especially popular, which attracted 268,000 guests, which is 41% more than in the previous year. Other attractions were not left out: 11 thousand tourists visited Veliky Bolgar, an increase of 22%, and the island-city of Sviyazhsk received 56 thousand guests this season, increasing the flow by 26%.
The Kukmor district of the republic also had a positive impact on the tourist attractiveness of the region thanks to the Kukmor Valenki festival, and the Fedotovo and Sviyazhsky Hills ski resorts gathered many winter sports fans.
Other popular sites included the Pacha Mama alpaca Park in the Zelenodolsk district, the Wild Farm eco-park in the Rybno-Slobodsky district and the Kysh Babai residence in the Arsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, which attracted families with children and became highlights of the holidays.
The past New Year holidays have shown that Tatarstan remains an attractive destination for tourists, continuing to develop its cultural and entertainment opportunities for guests and residents of the republic.
