A new 8-room Somov Hotel has opened in Kazan. The hotel is located in the historical center of the city – in a mansion built in 1852, on Mayakovsky Street.
The mansion is a monument of wooden architecture, in 2018 it received the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance. Some of the historical elements have been preserved in the house: in some rooms you can see a log cabin wall that is more than 150 years old, several historical doors with transoms and an oven.
All rooms in the hotel are named after Kazan residents, with whom the history of the nearby streets is connected. For example, the "Letsky Room" is in honor of General Alexei Letsky, who lived in these places, the "Jozef Room" is in honor of the balloonist Jozef Drevnitsky, who ascended in a huge balloon over Kazan in 1895.
The Somov Boutique Hotel positions itself as a place where one can relax from the hustle and bustle of the big city, while being a step away from gastronomic and cultural places.
According to Tatarstan State Statistics Service, today there are 669 collective accommodation facilities in Tatarstan for 27 thousand rooms, of which 278 facilities for almost 12 thousand rooms in Kazan. At the same time, the average utilization of the hotel fund reaches 76-78%.
The opening of a new room supply contributes to solving the tasks of the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry" to increase the number of rooms and tourist trips to 140 million by 2030.
