Tatarstan takes part in the tourism exhibition in Saudi Arabia
The delegation of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism is participating in the Riyadh Travel Fair exhibition these days.
The Riyadh Travel Fair is a major annual event that brings together representatives of leading travel companies from the Persian Gulf countries. The event is a well-known international platform for the presentation of travel products and services provided by the largest companies in the world, mainly for tour operators in Saudi Arabia. Last year, more than 200 exhibitors from 32 countries participated in the exhibition, and 23 thousand visitors attended the event.
The Republic of Tatarstan is represented at the joint Discover Russia stand, where employees of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan present the tourist potential of the destination. The residents of Saudi Arabia show great interest in the cultural heritage and tourist opportunities of Russia, because in summer it gets very hot in their country – the temperature reaches 50 (icon degrees) and they try to travel to other places with more comfortable conditions. Saudis travel with large families, spending two weeks or more on the trip.
Tatarstan has prepared an offer for Saudi citizens to relax in natural locations – in comfortable eco-hotels and glamping on the banks of the Volga River or numerous lakes of the republic, as well as in a beautiful forest – in the bosom of nature.
Saudi Arabia is one of the priority foreign markets for the Republic of Tatarstan to attract tourists. This work is aimed at achieving the goals of the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry" to increase the export of travel services three times by 2030. Last year, the RT State Committee on Tourism, together with the Moscow City Tourism Committee, conducted an advertising and information tour for 18 tour operators from Saudi Arabia from September 26 to October 2.
Let us recall that for Saudi citizens there is an electronic visa mechanism for entry to Russia, which makes travel easier and more accessible.
