Space sanatoriums of Tatarstan
The Association "Sanatoriums of Tatarstan" is preparing for cooperation with the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Scientific Research Institute Cosmonaut Training Center named after Yu. A. Gagarin" for the purpose of carrying out post-flight rehabilitation of astronauts on the basis of republican health resorts.
During the negotiations held with representatives of the Cosmonaut Training Center, it was noted that the climatic zone of the Volga region and the Kama region is the optimal place for post-flight rehabilitation of astronauts and can contribute to improving approaches to its implementation. According to the received technical assignment with the necessary requirements for the admission of cosmonauts and the rehabilitation team, seven sanatoriums in the republic have now been identified to meet all necessary conditions.
It is expected that representatives of the Center will visit republican sanatoriums to assess conditions and perhaps this year Tatarstan will accept the first cosmonaut for post-flight rehabilitation.
