On October 10, 2017 at 11:00 the Gabdulla Tukay Literary Museum is holding an event called “Coming back: in 110 years to Tukay, to room 40”, devoted to the 110th anniversary of G. Tukay’s comeback from Uralsk to Kazan.
The Gabdulla Tukay Literary Museum conducts various cultural and educational activities, including literary, musical and authorship evenings; meetings with the creative community; presentations of exhibitions, books and media products; museum holidays; museum and pedagogic training, and master classes. The museum personnel place a great emphasis on studying and promoting the milestone events in life and creative work of G. Tukay. One of such events was his comeback to Kazan from Uralsk in autumn 1907, where he had lived for 12 years and established himself as a great person, journalist, and poet.
The event devoted to the 110th anniversary of this milestone will be held at the building of the former hotel “Bulgar”, where G. Tukay lived in room 40. The presentation of the only display in the Republic of Tatarstan called “Here lived Tukay, the poetry lived here” will be held within the framework of the program. The first Deputy of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan E.R. Kamalova and General Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan Doctor of Historical Sciences G.R. Nazipova will speak before guests. Prefect of the territory of the Municipal Public Institution “Prefecture ‘Old City’ Executive Committee of Kazan” M.Z. Usmanov will speak about Old Tatar Sloboda, the place where he met G. Tukay and his epoch. The Chairman of the Union of the Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan will cover the main topics of Kazan period of G. Tukay’s work. Performing artists of the Tatar Academic Theatre named after G. Kamal, G. Tukay’s award winner Ildus Akhmedzyanov, Rishat Akhmadullin and Ilnur Zakirov will take part in the event.
