This year, the city celebrates 1009 years, and the Republic of Tatarstan- 24 years. In honor of these dates residents and guests of the Republic of Tatarstan are invited to join an extensive holiday program with concerts, musical, spectacular sporting events, "Literary courtyards' and celebratory fireworks.
In 2014, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation implemented a program of cultural and educational routes which organises field trips to cities in Russia. The project is implemented in order to promote the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation and inspire young people to learn more about the history and culture of Russia.

The State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan Tourism announces a competition for inclusion in the personnel reserve positions of the civil service of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 19.08.2014 one of the most significant events in the life of the international airport "Kazan" took place. The first Embraer 190 Finnair Airlines arrives at 3.25 am, which from today on will make regular flights from Kazan to Helsinki.

Airline «Finnair» opens new regular route "Helsinki-Helsinki-Kazan". Presentation of a new regular flight will take place at the international airport "Kazan" at 3:00 am on August 19. The event will be attended by representatives of the top management of the airline and the airport, the delegation from Finland, as well as the first passengers of the flight.
On 16-17 August 2014 the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan Tourism together with NP "Sulitsa" organized the first all-Russian festival of historical reconstruction "Great Bolgaria" in Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve Bolgar.
During the two days event was attended by 14,000 visitors. 8875 tickets for museum field trips were sold.
UNESCO signs and plaques are soon to be installed in In Bulgarian historical and archaeological complex on August 20. There will be celebrations on that day to mark the delivery of the certificate of official recognition of the complex monument of cultural heritage of humanity, with the participation of representatives of UNESCO.

Museum "Kazan Kremlin" has become one of the winners of the "Traveler's Choice 2014» («Travellers' Choice») in the category "Entertainment" according to the largest travel website TripAdvisor.
Participants of the rally will visit Zelenodolsky Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Raifa monastery and Holy Ascension Macarius Monastery. According to the Diocesan Youth Department, about 50 people from different parishes of the city of Kazan have already confirmed their participation in the rally.
