Presentation “Japan. Where tradition meets the future” with the support of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) (Moscow office) will be held in Double Tree by Hilton Kazan City Center on September 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Tourism potential of Japan will be presented, and the participants will have an opportunity to establish contacts with the representatives of JNTO, Japan Airlines etc.

The State Historical, Architectural and Fine Arts Museum "Ostrov-grad Sviyazhsk" and the association “Lazy Torzhok” invite all those who enjoy eating good food and having a good time to one of our favourite holidays – gastronomic festival “Sviyazhsk Ukha-2017”.

A meeting with Vu Zui Myng, Consul General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg took place in the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan on August 21. The meeting was held within the framework of a visit to Tatarstan. During the meeting Artur Abdrashitov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan and Vu Zui Myng discussed cooperation in the area of tourism, transport logistics and other issues. The Consul General was also presented the tourism industry potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Starting from August 23, a TV show called “Food, I Love You” will be filmed by “Friday”, a Russian entertainment TV Channel.  

Three popular narrators – Nikolay Kamka, Eduard Matsaberidze and Vladimir Dantes will try best food in Kazan best places and restaurants cooked by best chefs. The narrators decide by toss, who of them eats in restaurants, who goes to outdoor cafes and snackbars, and who cooks national dishes in a local family. We believe that the visitors will enjoy the gastronomic Kazan!

Literary Chistopol, the 2nd Author Song Festival will take place in Chistopol on August 18-20, 2017. The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chistopol State Historical, Architectural and Literary Museum-Reserve, and the Chistopol Municipal District.

Literary Chistopol festival was first held in 2016. In 2017 more than 100 authors, performers, fans of bard songs and poets from 22 cities of Russia have applied for participation. Participants from Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Ufa, Rostov on Don, Yoshkar Ola, Cheboksary, Cherepovets, Kineshma, Naberezhnye Chelny and other cities will come to the festival to share their talents.

scientists, choreographers, filmmakers, children and their parents will gather in Black Lake Park.                                                                                                                                             This year the festival will have the following venues: design market featuring 100 designers; lecture area with lectures about politics, culture and the history of Kazan; guided tours about the history of water bodies, the park and architecture styles; master classes by the best Tatar chefs and a cooking battle; poetry booth (tête-à-tête poetry); poetry audio-video-slam; children’s playground from Sabyilar and Kidspace centers; venue of Gyilem project with the lectures on astronomy, biology and mathematics, and presentations of new Tatar publishing house and translation of Harry Potter into Tatar language; dance master classes “Biyu for you”; short films by young Tatar filmmakers.                                                         

Kazan branch of the Russian International Academy of Tourism continues admitting students to full-time course till August 18.

Festival of medieval battle “the Great Bolgar” was held for the fourth time in the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve on August 12-13, 2017. This year the festival acquired international status!

The festival was visited by 47,000 viewers. As a comparison, last year the festival was visited by around 38,000 guests.

European Grand Prix for historical medieval battle in the 5x5 format that was held for the first time gained a great interest. The best clubs, many of which are the prize-winners and winners of the World Championship-2017 “Battle of the Nations” took part in the battle. The Russian Club “Bern” was the winner.

Kazan LIVE-2017, an International Festival of Contemporary Culture will take place in Kazan on August 20. Over the years of its existence, the Kremlin LIVE festival that was well-liked among many Kazan residents, has grown, firmed up and acquired many devoted viewers, the number of which had been growing every year until it reached the mark of 40 thousand people. Eventually the organisers expanded its boundaries and made its main locations more accessible for its guests and viewers. The festival goes outside the limits of the cosy old Kazan Kremlin, which fact was reflected in its new name. This year it will be held in the big square in front of the Palace of Farmers.

Opening of the exhibition “Sviyaga – a running water” will take place on August 11 at the Exhibition hall of the Museum of Sviyazhsk history, informs the press-service of the Museum.

The exhibition represents the history of the river Sviyaga and its embankments from ancient times till the XX century. The Isle – city Sviyazhsk and the most significant villages and settlements located on the river and its tributaries are in the center of attention. Each of them has its own ties with Sviyaga, its history and legends, landscapes and places of attraction.

Sviyaga, which gave its name to the city of Sviyazhsk, is a right tributary of the river Volga. It is a small river in the middle Volga region and flows across the territory of Tatarstan along over 160 km.
