The Republic of Tatarstan has joined the ranks of attractive regions from the perspective of military historical tourism development according to classification made by the National Calendar of Events “EventsInRussia.com.” The rating is based on evaluating both the number of historical events that took place in the regions of Russia (the period from the 1st of June to the 31th of August), and interest in the region as a venue for military historical festivals on the Internet (in terms of enquiries made in search engines).

The State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism invites to submit applications for participation in the republican competitions in the field of tourism - "Journey to the roots" and "Leader of Tourism".

There are only a few days left until a big holiday called the International Festival of the Medieval Battle "The Great Bolgar"! As early as of the 12th of August the outstanding event, which lasts for two days, will start on the bank of the Volga. The best fighters will gather on one battleground to compete for the title of the strongest one. But the festival "Great Bolgar" is not only a standout bright matinee performance.

People can watch a remarkable closing ceremony. In the evening, the area of main festival site will appear before the audience in the light of the torches that create a fantastic fire world as a part of the beautiful theatrical fire show "Fire tale". Before the show viewers will enjoy a live performance of the folk group TEUFELSTANZ.

The organizers of the international medieval battle festival "Great Bolgar" took care of their visitors: the program will finish at 22.00, which makes possible for all guests to reach home without any difficulties.

The 10th Anniversary All-Russian Spasskaya Fair will be held in Yelabuga from the 4th till the 6th of August, 2017.

According to usual tradition, the fair is held on the territory of the conservation part of Yelabuga in the area of Shishkinsky ponds, the stadium "Molodyozhny" and the central streets in the historical part of the city.

Jewelry, folk costumes, designer outfit, down goods, paintings on wood, artistic weaving, ceramics, gzhel, goods of artistic processed leather, patchwork and dolls, chasing, engraving, metal painting, lace made of metal, articles made from bast, glass, vines and much more will be presented at the fair.

Today, Sergei Ivanov, Chairman of the state Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, has presented tourist potential of the republic before representatives of the tourism community and the media in Slovenia. Sergei Ivanov spoke about the major tourist centers: the Great Bolgar, Sviyazhsk, Elabuga, Chistopol, presented the largest events that can be visited during a year and answered the questions of representatives of Slovenian tourist industry.

Participants of military-historical movement of Tatarstan and other regions of the Russian Federation will reconstruct battles of the two world wars on the 5th and 6th of August, 2017!

The interregional military-historical festival "East-West: Russian Patriotic war", being organized by the club “Vityaz”, which is renowned and respected among re-enactors (conducted by V.V.Khabarov), will be held in Kazan for the second time. The festival will present the work of the Tatarstan branch of the military historical society on implementation of the program of Patriotic education brightly and easily.

The personnel of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism extends heartfelt condolences in connection with untimely death of Valery Anatolyevich Gerasimov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan. He was an excellent specialist, a talented leader, a bright and wonderful person.

It is a heavy and grievous loss to all who knew Valeriy Anatolievich and worked with him.

We cherish the memory of him. We share grief with near and dear ones.
 

The international festival of medieval battle "the Great Bolgar" will take place  in the Bolgar state historical and architectural open-air Museum, which is entered into the list of the UNESCO World heritage, on August 12-13, 2017. Russian and international clubs of historical reconstruction will attend the event. More than    38 000 spectators visited the battle in 2016, this year is expected that more than 40 000 guests will attend the event.

The meeting of the Commission on public control over the implementation of the Federal Target Program "Development of foreign and domestic tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)" in the Republic of Tatarstan was held on the island city of Sviyazhsk on July 20, 2017. The meeting was attended by Sergey Evgenievich Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, a member of the Commission, Liana Marceljevna Kuznetsova, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, Rinat Rafaelevich Fazylov, head of the Executive Committee of the popular front in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kirill Nikolaevich Ponomarev, Deputy Chairman of the Public chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Public Council under the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism, Director of the Kazan branch of "The Russian international Academy for tourism", Ramil Zufarovich Miftakhov, President of the tourist agencies Association of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the Public Council under the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for tourism.
