A delegation from the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism and the tour operator “Vin‑Vin Tour” took part in the international exhibition PATA Travel Mart 2026 in Malaysia, where they held more than 40 targeted meetings with foreign partners. A key event was a business lunch organised by the Centre for Strategic Research, at which the republic’s tourism products were presented and aroused particular interest among Malaysian operators.
From 19 to 20 August, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in one of the largest international tourism exhibitions in the Asia‑Pacific region — PATA Travel Mart 2026, held in Kuching, Malaysia. This large‑scale event brought together more than 1,100 delegates from 48 countries. The Tatarstan delegation included representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism and the “Vin‑Vin Tour” tour operator.
At the exhibition, the Russian exposition was represented by the joint “Discover Russia” stand of the Centre for Strategic Research, which became the largest stand at the event. More than 30 participants from ten Russian regions, including Tatarstan, showcased their capabilities there. International partners were shown the diversity of Russian destinations — from cultural capitals and historic cities to mountains, seacoasts, natural areas, gastronomic routes, and winter adventures. The Tatarstan delegation presented its own tourism products and the republic’s opportunities for foreign partners at the stand.
On the eve of the exhibition’s opening, on 18 August, an official reception hosted by the Russian House in Malaysia was held. Foreign tour operators and members of the Russian delegation were invited to the event. In a friendly atmosphere, B2B meetings took place, allowing the parties to strengthen business contacts and discuss prospects for mutual tourism exchange even before the main business programme began.
During the exhibition, the Tatarstan delegation held more than 40 targeted meetings with foreign tour operators. A key highlight was participation in a business lunch organised by the Centre for Strategic Research. The event was attended by representatives of leading tour operators from China, India, and Malaysia. The main topics of discussion included the development of inbound tourism to Russia, partnership with the national tourism brand “Discover Russia”, and the creation of new joint products for international travellers.
Malaysian tour operators showed particular interest in the republic’s tourism potential. Agreements were reached with them on further cooperation and on integrating Tatarstan’s routes into international tourism programmes.
This work is aimed at achieving the goals of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry” — to triple the export of tourism services by 2030.
