The rating demonstrates the growing interest in recreational vacations in Russia, with record figures of tourist flow and incomes of health resorts. Tatarstan has entered the top of the most popular regions for sanatorium-resort holidays in the fall of 2024.
The portal of the Sanatorium–Russia.rf https://санатории-россии.рф/ presented a rating of popular regions of the country for sanatorium-resort holidays in the fall of 2024, based on the number of vacationers. 2024 promises to be a landmark year for the sanatorium-resort industry of the Russian Federation: according to preliminary data, the tourist flow and incomes of health resorts have reached record levels, indicating a growing interest in recreational vacations.
According to the data, in the fall of 2024, about 40 thousand people vacationed in the sanatoriums of Tatarstan, which allowed the republic to take the eighth place in the rating. Interestingly, Tatarstan has almost equaled the Altai Territory in terms of the number of tourists. The average time spent by tourists in republican health resorts is 10 days, and the cost of a trip to Tatarstan is pleasantly surprising – only 3,800 rubles.
The top 10 popular destinations also include Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol, Crimea, Moscow Region, Bashkortostan, Perm Krai, Altai Krai, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions.
According to Evgeny Terentyev, a member of the Board of the National Resort Association and head of the Tatarstan Sanatoriums Association, previously high demand for sanatorium services was offset by an increase in ticket prices, but at present further price increases may lead to cancellation of trips. Therefore, active construction of new complexes is necessary in the field of sanatorium-resort recreation.
For the successful development of this sector in Russia, it is necessary to continue investing in infrastructure, introduce modern technologies and expand the range of services. This will not only attract more tourists, but also improve the quality of service – a key factor for successful competition in the market.
As a reminder, on December 25, 2024, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia announced the selection of projects in the field of tourism under the program of preferential lending within the framework of the new national project "Tourism and Hospitality". The new selection will last until March 3, 2025. The selection is carried out in accordance with Decree No. 141 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated February 9, 2021.
A preferential loan can be obtained for the construction or reconstruction of multifunctional complexes, providing from 120 rooms of sanatorium-resort organizations and (or) hotels of at least three stars, the total area of which is at least 10% of the total area of the multifunctional complex, as well as a sports and recreation complex, and (or) a conference center.
