Kazan is preparing for the "Shirokaya Maslenitsa"

On March 1, the republican festival of Slavic culture "Shirokaya Maslenitsa" will be held in the Black Lake Park in Kazan. Guests will enjoy a rich program with performances by creative teams, a craft fair, master classes, Maslenitsa treats, interactive playgrounds and a folk dance.

On March 1, from 11:00 to 15:00, a "Shirokaya Maslenitsa" will be held in the Black Lake Park for residents and guests of the city. The republican holiday is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan, the Assemblies of Peoples Living in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Directorate of Parks and Squares of Kazan.

Shirokaya Maslenitsa will be a real immersion in the atmosphere of folk traditions, contributing to the preservation and development of Russia's unique multinational culture. A rich and varied program awaits the guests of the holiday, which will be interesting for both adults and children.

A bright action will unfold on the main stage – the festive program "Roar, Maslenitsa!" with the participation of the best creative teams of Kazan, the Assembly and the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan, as well as a theatrical prologue. Aquagrimers, life-size dolls and animation groups will work for the youngest guests.

Unique souvenirs and handmade items will be available at the fair of decorative and applied arts. Everyone will be able to take part in exciting master classes. Guests will enjoy a "Hearty Courtyard" with traditional Maslenitsa treats, and fun can be had at the folklore playground "Funny Meadow". There will also be historical and theatrical venues, a photo zone and attractions. The culmination of the holiday will be a traditional folk dance around an effigy of Maslenitsa.

Maslenitsa festivities are also held in other tourist centers of the republic:

· from February 22 to March 2 at the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve,

· from February 24 to March 2 in the ancient merchant town-museum of Chistopol,

· March 1 in Alekseevsky district,

· On March 2, on the island-city of Sviyazhsk.
