In 2024, thanks to the opening of the M-12 highway, the republic expects an additional influx of guests, including to the island-city of Sviyazhsk.
In Sviyazhsk, it is planned to open two new food outlets on the territory of the Uspensky and Ionno-Predtechensky monasteries, as well as new souvenir shops. Additional toilets will be available for a comfortable stay of tourists. Also, on the eve of the high tourist season, repairs were carried out at the visiting facilities.
The tourist infrastructure of the island was inspected yesterday by the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov and the head of the Zelenodolsk district Mikhail Afanasyev.
Following the results of the tour, a meeting was held with entrepreneurs on the issue of quality service provision. Separately, the need to improve the island's territory and all tourist facilities in a single style was noted.
Today, Sviyazhsk is one of the main tourist centers of Tatarstan, which is visited by more than 1.7 million people annually. The Uspensky Cathedral and monastery of the island-town of Sviyazhsk are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
