The competition program of the X International Festival of Muslim Cinema in Kazan has been formed in the category "Animation." Members of the jury will choose the winner out of 10 cartoons.

UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova said that Sviyazhsk is in the preliminary list for inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. She announced it during a visit to the historical building on 21 August. Ms Bokova was accompanied by the state adviser of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev during her visit.
Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Sergey Ivanov is taking part in the All-Russian meeting on the implementation of the federal target program "Development of domestic tourism in the Russian Federation (2011 - 2018 years)" in Pskov, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.
In five halls of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia in the framework of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Moscow three exhibitions have opened under one name, "Treasures of the spiritual heritage."
The Assembly of Tourist Volunteers, with the support of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan has conducted organized its own unique study on the streets with the largest hotels of Kazan. The aim was to find out who exactly is a typical tourist of Kazan and recognize his/her tourist basic needs.
On Wednesday, August 20, there was a joint press conference of the Acting Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, Adviser to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Vice-President of the PCT Sergei Korneev and Minister of Tourism and Resorts of Krasnodar Region Yevgeny Kudeli.

This year, the city celebrates 1009 years, and the Republic of Tatarstan- 24 years. In honor of these dates residents and guests of the Republic of Tatarstan are invited to join an extensive holiday program with concerts, musical, spectacular sporting events, "Literary courtyards' and celebratory fireworks.

In 2014, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation implemented a program of cultural and educational routes which organises field trips to cities in Russia. The project is implemented in order to promote the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation and inspire young people to learn more about the history and culture of Russia.
