The highest touristic activity was during the period of the 3rd till 6th of January.

On 2016, at the same period, the tourist flow was 130.000 tourists. One of the factors of decreasing the tourist flow was the tightening of the rules, considering the school groups trips and children carriage, which caused the cancelling of pre-booked tours.

Nowadays the State Committee is working under creation of special touristic routes for representatives of Tatar Diaspora, living outside the Republic of Tatarstan (includingliving abroad), which will contain visits to national objects, national festivals, diving into the history, culture and traditions of Tatar nation.

The formal opening of the new exposition of the city history Museum will be on January 12, at 14:30 in Elabuga State museum preserve. It is possible thanks to the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of culture within the federal target program “The Russian Culture (2012-2018 years)” and grant from the Tatarstan Republic government. The sizeable portion was done by the museum preserve at its sole earnings.

The last exposition of the city history Museum was opened by the first president of the Tatarstan Republic Mintimer Shaimiev in 2007 at the 1000th anniversary of Elabuga-city.

The Museum of statehood history of the Tatarstan Republic invites all Kazan citizens and guests to the creative meeting with artists of the Tatar State Academic Kamal theatre within the exhibition “The Tatar cultural code: 100 years to the first Tatar theatre” on January 12, at 15:00.

The formal opening of two exhibitions will be held at the showroom of the National Elabuga museum preserve on January 12, at 14.00

The first – “Alen’kii cvetochek” (The Scarlett Flower). It is the common project of the Elabuga National museum preserve and Orenburg regional museum of pictural art, dedicated to 225th anniversary of the writer S.T. Aksakov birth. The exposition contains two sections: childrens’ paintings of the Petrovskaya village Saraktashskii region pupils and paintings of the naïve artists (who have no artistic eductation, but have the artistic talent).

From 3rd till 15th of January at the New Year holidays, the museum named E. Boratynskii invites you to the festive excursion for the group (14+). “The Christmas visit” – the journey though the Boratynskii house with the stories about Christmas and New Year celebration traditions on the Czarist-era and serving the guests round with the national winter alcohol-free drink gluhwein.

According to hotel reservation for living from 6th to 7th January results, the capital of the region took the third place, following St. Petersburg and Moscow.

The National museum of Tatarstan invites Kazan citizens to celebrate the old style New Year on January, 13. The press service of National Museum of Tatarstan reports that all guests will be invited to remember the Soviet New Year traditions, diving into the retro cinematography world.

The exhibition “New year around the world” will help to create the festive atmosphere. Different games, competitions, New Year funs, songs and literary readings will be waiting for Museum visitors.

The year 2016 became the year of new discoveries and achievements. The whole year we were hard working on that Tatarstan became one of the region leader in the tourism market of Russia.

The new program of destination development VisitTatarstan were presented. It is aimed at creating and realization of global communication strategy marketing campaign to promote the tourist potential of the Republic, as well as the further development of the tourism industry in the region and bring it to modern international requirements and standards. VisitTatarstan- it is understanding of the region, as a region of 1001 pleasure. The program is intended to be an umbrella for the main tourist centers of: Kazan, Elabuga, Great Bolgar, Sviyazhsk island-town, Chistopol and Tetyushi.

According to the idea of promoters, "Khan's yard" will be the center of attraction for residents and visitors of the capital of Tatarstan in the New Year's holidays. The project is implemented by the initiative "Tatspirtprom" JSC with the support of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The symbol of the village became a national Christmas tree-house "Khan’s Palace". For Kazan citizens on the territory of the hippodrome was created a varied entertainment infrastructure: market place for children, children's slides "Falcon Tower", stable yard, Husky Park, ice rink "Khan’s Lake". There also will work trade rows with national pastries and tea, products of national crafts masters:
