According to turstat.com, the Kremlin Quay Fair in Kazan scored in top rating of Russian New Year and Christmas festivities and fairs of this winter. The rating is based on the events popularity. Apart from the Kremlin Quay Fair, it lists Moscow festival “Journey to Christmas”, Christmas Fair in Saint-Petersburg, “The New Year Capital Of Russia” festival in Khanty-Mansiysk, “Christmas Fairy-Tale In Vologda” project, Seasonal Fair “Your#BestNewYear” in Vladimir, New Year fairs in Yaroslavl, Kostroma, and Ice Town in Yekaterinburg.

The Republic of Tatarstan expects an influx of guests on New Year vacations. There are seasonal programs, fairs, and Christmas shows afoot. On the whole, over 500 cultural and leisure events are staged in the republic. Tatarstan is traditionally listed among leaders of tourist ratings on New Year vacations. Once again, Kazan reached top 3 Most Popular Cities of Russia, this time as a seasonal recreation area for families with children. The tvil.ru rating is based on data of online accommodation booking made by tourists for the period from 28 December 2017 to 9 January 2018. By amount of booking, the city is only led by Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.

Statutes of both Anti-Corruption Legislation and Civil Code of the Russian Federation prohibit presenting of gifts to persons holding governmental and municipal offices, to state and municipal officials, and to employees of particular organizations, and receiving such gifts by them in connection with performance of their formal (working) duties.

In view of the coming New Year and Christmas holidays, Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Russian Federation cautions that the prohibition of presenting and receiving gifts should be observed.

The briefing will be attended by Sergei Ivanov, the Chair of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Darya Sannikova, Director of the “Committee On Tourism Development” municipal budgetary institution, Svetlana Konovalova, Deputy Director on Research of the “The Kazan Kremlin” state museum-reserve, Tanzilya Agisheva, Deputy Director on Development of the museum-reserve of Yelabuga, Lilia Safina, Deputy Director on Development of the Bolgar museum-reserve, Alla Eliseyeva, the Head of Department of Tourism of the town-island of Sviyazhsk. They will brief on preparation to the New 2018 Year celebrations in Tatarstan, on the number of tourists expected to come, on cultural and entertainment programs and events that have been arranged for the coming New Year vacations and holidays. They will also answer press questions.

“ Residence Of Kysh Babai And Kar Kyzy” in Yana Kyrlay, Arsk Region, is open for visitors again. It is located in a fairy-tale snow-clad spruce forest on the bank of the Iya River in Yana Kyrlay, 80 km away from Kazan. A journey into the fairy-tale starts at the forest customs where guests are met by Shaitan who takes them into the Kysh Babai estate. The house of Kysh Babai himself is to be found by Shurale map. On their way travellers would encounter a great series of adventures – ancient tales, difficult riddles, magic, and wonders -- along with fictitious characters like Shurale (Forest Spirit) who knows all forest roads and paths, amiable and not at all evil Shaitan (Devil), merry Ubyrly Karchyk (Baba Yaga), ancient Azhdakha (Fire Dragon), strong and audacious Batyr (Epic Warrior), beautiful Altynchen (Golden Locks), loving and sweet Takhir and Zukhra (Romeo and Juliet) who would entertain travellers with many a quest.

Latvian national airline operator airBaltic announces its plans for the winter season. AirBaltic will continue to operate flights between Kazan and Riga in winter time since 14th of December 2017 till 25th of January 2018. Flights from Kazan to Riga will be carried out twice a week on Boeing 737 aircraft. Duration of flight is 2 hours 40 minutes. Winter schedule is already uploaded to booking systems, to airline operator’s website, with tickets available for sale.

On December 5, at the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism an agreement on cooperation in the field of Tourism was signed between the State Committee and Iran Markaz company (The Islamic Republic of Iran). Sergei Ivanov, the Chair of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Jacob Ghasemi, Director of Iran Markaz, signed official 5-year agreement on cooperation.

For quick reference: Iran Makraz works on the Iranian market in the sphere of tourism and travelling. To foreign tourists, it primarily offers tours and trips that highlight historical monuments of the global cultural heritage.

On the eve of the International Anti-Corruption Day (9th of December), staff conference and workshop on pivotal tasks of anti-corruption enforcement was held at the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In the course of the conference a report on behavior of civil officials on the web and in social media was made by Liana Saetova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism.
