From 12 to 14 September 2014 holds regional stage of the National Tourism Award in the field of event tourism «Russian Event Awards» in the Volga Federal District. The State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan is representing five projects on the competition.
The first ever "Kazan zhyeny" - a historical reconstruction of the Tatar capital of the late XIX - early XX century - will be held on the square in front of the Kamal theatre in Kazan. The event will take place on September 20 from 14.00 to 18.00. It is expected that the festival will become a tradition, as representative of the mosque Yardem says.
New unusual museum began its work in Kazan: it is dedicated to the Tatar national dessert chak-chak. Its creators - a couple of locals – became inspired with the idea when they were visiting the marshmallow museum in Kolomna and chocolate museum in Prague.

Travel agency "Skytour" suspended its business activity, reports Life News. Police has received 60 complaints from tourists who have used the company’s service. They report that on September 9 "Skytour" ceased to provide services for already purchased vouchers, and the company’s top managers have disappeared.
Russian tourists will be able to get visa upon arrival in India from this October, according to The Times of India with reference to the Tourism Development Corporation of Goa.
Within the framework of the Year of Culture and Announcement of Kazan the Cultural cCapital of the Turkic world in 2014, on 3-5 October 2014, Kazan will host the first international music festival "The Turkic world." Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Composers of Tatarstan.
The suspension of business activity of the tour operator LLC "Southern Cross Travel" was announced on 10 September. As it was reported in the company's official website: "Due to the inability to fulfill its obligations to the tourists and customers under contracts of sale of the tourist services, LLC" Southern Cross Travel "is forced to announce suspension of its activities”. Suspension of the company’s business activity is associated with a strong decline in demand for tourist product in the light of the recent bankruptcy of a number of the largest tour operators.

An exhibition of works by one of the greatest artists of the XX century, Nicholas Roerich opened last night at the Museum of Fine Arts in Kazan in the framework of the Year of Culture.
The Council of tourism market will be established in Russia. The council will include tour operators, airlines and insurers, as Acting head of Rostourism, Oleg Safonov reported to portal "Interfax-Tourism.
