Analytical agency TurStat ТурСтат has named the Russian smallest towns, which are popular for travelling in the summer vacation period of 2017.
The rating included the smallest towns with population less than 10 thousand people.
Top-10 of the smallest Russian town during summer vacations include Bolgar (Tatarstan), Plyos (Ivanov region),Kirillov (Vologda region), Myshkin (Yaroslav region), Vesyegonsk (Tver region), Teberda (Karachayevo-Cherkesiya), Zadonsk (Lipetsk region), Pravdinsk (Kaliningrad region), Verkhneuralsk (Chelyabinsk region), Solvychegorsk (Arkhangelsk region).
The rating has been made by the results of analysis presented by the tourist offices and on-line booking of accommodation systems.
Summer project “Hospitable Kazan” has started on June 1. It is being realized annually by the “Assembly of Tourist volunteers of the Republic of Tatarstan” NPO with the support of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism.
The project is aimed at informing the tourists of the places of interest and objects of tourist infrastructure, as well as the increase of tourist attractiveness in the city of Kazan.
Each information site presents a geo-cupola pavilion in the form of a football ball and organized in the Visit Tatarstan style. There are three volunteers working inside each pavilion in two shifts from 10.30 a.m. to 02.30 p.m. and from 02.30 p.m. to 06.30 p.m.; they are located in 5 places of the town: the Old-Tatar Settlement, Kamal theatre, «Chaliapin Palace Hotel», hotel «Nogay», Kazan Kremlin. These information sites provide tourists with free map of the city, as well as the official guide «Tatarstan: 1001 pleasure», issued especially for the start of the summer tourist season and Confederations Cup 2017, in 5 languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish and Chinese. Tourist guide was developed by the “Center of Tourism development of the Republic of Tatarstan” NPO. This year the project “Hospitable Kazan” will be supported by 200 volunteers, who are the students of Kazan universities.
The museum exposition is based on the modern multimedia solutions, like those applied in the European museums. During the visit to the museum large screens will picture the history of the unique Kazan Tatars’ society establishment from the XVI to the XIX century. The visitor will thumb through the pages of history on the interactive touch panels, try on the national costumes in the virtual fitting room, study the architecture and biography of famous persons turning the building models and 3D sculptures at a large screen, learn the traditional Tatar tea ceremony, visit an antique and souvenirs shop and even ride the sledges “Barabus” across the Old-Tatar settlement in virtual reality glasses.
The Forum «Zdravnitsa -2017» made a decision for the Association “Tatarstan Sanatoriums” of joining the National Resorts Association (NRA). NRA and the Association signed a Contract on Accession on June 1, 2017. The National Resorts Association is a non-profit organization uniting the RF health-resort and spa institutions and associations.
Free webinar “Have a holiday in Tatarstan” with information about the sanatoriums of the republic will be held on June 9, 2017 for the representatives of tourist agencies. The Association «Sanatoriums of Tatarstan» invites representatives of tourist companies to join the event. This is a third webinar out of the planned five ones.

On June the 1st the Yelabuga State Museum Reserve for the fourth time participated in the literary project “Classics in the Russian province”, arranged by the Association of small scale tourist cities.
The inhabitants and guests of Yelabuga were reading the works of the poets and writers related to our city: Stanislav Romanovskiy, Nadezhda Durova, Marina Tsvetayeva, Mikhail Prishvin, Boris Pasternak and Evgeniy Yevtushenko. The event lasted in a non-stop mode during four hours in the gazebo of the Silver Age library.
The narrators read the works of the Yelabuga poets: Natalia Verderevskaya, Evgeniya Pospelova, Antonina Silkina and Svetlana Popova.
The work by N.A.Durova “The narration of a sixty year old hussar” was read for the first time to broad public attention. It was taken from the magazine “Pantheon”, 1840, which was purchased not long ago into the repository collection of the Yelabuga State Museum Reserve.

The XV Festival of Chimes “ALEKSEEVSKIYE PEREZVONY - 2017” will take place on May 28, 2017 in the settlement of. The topic of the Festival is “Song of the Chimes - the echo of the centuries”.
The Festival is dedicated to the 15th Anniversary of Chimes performance “Alekseevskiye perezvony” on Alekseevskoye land.The Festival will be attended by the bell-ringers from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the authors and performers of sacral and folk music, folk lore and dancing groups of different genres.There will be also performed folk and spiritual songs and canticles, chimes of different traditions and schools.The program of the Festival includes a fair for popular craftwork items “Gorod Masterov” (City of Masters), master-classes, kids’ playground.The project “Kazachya Sloboda” (Cossacks’ settlement) will also be represented at the Festival with participation of military historical clubs.
